Will transferring from a JC to a UC hurt chances of Med School acceptance?
deliriusilustratr asked:
Do medical school care if a student goes straight to a UC out of highschool or go to a JC and then transfer to a UC?
Do medical school care if a student goes straight to a UC out of highschool or go to a JC and then transfer to a UC?
Like lets say,
Person A goes to UC straight out of highschool and earns a 3.5 gpa at graduation, while Person B goes to a JC then transfers to a UC, earning a 4.0 gpa at graduation.
Will medical schools take Person A over Person B?
To me, JC seems so shady because you don’t really have to be a genius to go there, so will coming from a JC hurt your image in a Med School’s eyes?

Is it true Obama is going to tax our health care benefits at work? And other unions will NOT pay a dime?
Bethany J asked:
Obama plans to tax our health insurance benefits at work. We will have to pay taxes on the value of the insurance that is provided by our employers. Is it true the UAW or any other union will be exept from these health care taxes?

What happens to private health insurance companies if American health care is nationalized?
bdunc295 asked:
Few would be willing to dish out for private coverage while they are receiving health care from government taxation. Would the private health industry perhaps dwindle down to a few big players and be forced to take a hit by improving coverage and care?
I’m well aware health care won’t be nationalized. I meant to indicate this is a hypothetical question.

health care benefits for large company?
sportzdog33 asked:
I am part of a group that has to present an employee benefits plan to the class, and the part that I will be working on specifically is the health care portion. Can anyone provide me with some ideas or examples to work with? We are a make-believe large company, but should I try to work with real HMOs and PPOs or should I make them up? Where can I find quotes and things like that? Thanks!

“bad” grades’ effect for med school?
ms. anonymous asked:
my friend and i keep having this argument. she has taken a couple of community college classes and has gotten c’s in both.we are high school seniors. she took them to fulfill the history requirement (to take gov senior yr) in high school. when she applied for college she had to tell them what she got in those classes. she wud rather take the classes over again at her uni then transfer her c’s to the uni. she took gov n econ btw. she’s worried that if she transfers them they will affect her gpa (she’s goin to ucsb) and that it will lower her chances to get into med school. i keep saying that i dont think med schools will care about the community college classes u took soph. summer in high school. plus it’s just history not even one of the med school prereq’s and she didn’t fail. idk tho. does anyone know who is right here?
see the thing is that i dont think that her cc classes she took in high school will effect her gpa at the uni. i get that med school’s expect a really high gpa. everyone knows that.

Do you think Physician Assistants will fill in for Family Parctice doctors in the future?
Spetznaz asked:
I was wondering because Yahoo ran an article about a masive shortage of primary care doctors because most med students want to specialize. Will PAs end up filling in the gap? I am interested in being a PA through the military (if I decide to join).
Typo, sorry. I meant to say Practice.

Does Med School look at the OVERALL or Only Pre-requisites GPA in College?
susan x asked:
So do med schools only care about the overall marks of all Prerequisite courses for med shcool,or do they also look at yout GPA for every academic term at college? Cuz, my overall GPA in the first year at College is 2.7/4, and I have failed a course. Does my first GPA still matters if I’ve boosted the Overall GPA in the next 3 years? Also if I’ve picked courses like A Second Language or Drama which are not revelant to Med Pre-requisite, would they be taken in to calculate my acceptance GPA?

Do the American people deserve the same retirement and health care benefits as our elected officials?
ConstitutionSupporter asked:
Our representatives in the House and Senate earn far more than the average American worker with incredible retirement and health benefits that we, the People, are helping to pay for. Yet, many of us do not have the same benefits for ourselves or our families. Do you believe that the American People deserve the same retirment opportunities and health care benefits that our representatives, our employees, receive?

How is health care in the United States?
John S asked:
I currently live in Canada where health care is free. However in the US you have to pay for health care. Now I was just wondering if the health care in the US is better than in Canada. How does it differ?

Is it really better or is it just that the government wants money?
